How Carrying Holocaust Testimony Supports Ontario Curriculum Expectations

Carrying Holocaust Testimony provides a powerful, curriculum-compatible learning experience that helps students engage with history through personal stories, survivor testimony, primary source materials, and critical reflection.

Our presentations are designed to complement Ontario curriculum expectations by helping students understand the Holocaust through the experiences of one family before, during, and after World War II, while also exploring themes of human rights, citizenship, identity, discrimination, resilience, and historical memory.

Key learning outcomes include:

  • Understanding the impact of Nazi ideology and antisemitism

  • Recognizing the progression from discrimination to persecution and genocide

  • Examining the consequences of totalitarianism and extremist ideologies

  • Exploring Canada’s role during and after World War II

  • Learning how historical events affect families and communities

  • Exploring Canadian diversity and multiculturalism

  • Recognizing the contributions of Holocaust survivors who rebuilt their lives in Canada

  • Learning about post-war immigration and refugee experiences

  • Understanding the responsibilities of individuals, governments, and societies

  • Exploring the role of testimony in preserving historical knowledge
