Presented by his daughter Karen Devon

Morris Devon was born in Wodzislaw Poland in 1929. His father sent him to hide in a small underground bunker on a farm, with his aunt, uncle and cousin where he remained for two and half years until liberation in 1945. His father, mother, sister, grandmother and most of his extended family were murdered. Morris came to Canada as an orphan and despite surviving the impossible, lived a righteous, joyful and full life until the age of 92. His inspiring story is told by his daughter Karen Devon. Karen Devon is an Endocrine Surgeon at Women’s College Hospital and the University Health Network and Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery and the Joint Center for Bioethics, Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto. She is the Medical Director of the UHN MAID Program. Her academic focus is in surgical innovation as well as ethics education including medical ethics and the Holocaust. She is an inaugural Board Member of the Jewish Medical Association of Ontario.
